Position Overview

The Marketing & Social Media Coordinator is a key player in creating content that will increase brand awareness and audience engagement across Texas Exes handles. This important role develops, produces, and schedules robust and original content on Texas Exes social media channels and maintains the association’s fast-growing social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, HookedIn), independently and in close collaboration with the marketing team and other internal stakeholders.

Your work will support the Association’s audience development, engagement, and revenue generation goals. It will include campaigns for events, membership, career resources, and other priorities as assigned.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and has a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once. They must be a strong executor and able to coordinate projects from start to finish with minimal supervision. This is a diverse, fast-paced role in a busy department.

Major Job Functions

  • Concept, develop and produce branded social media content for the Texas Exes. Promote association benefits, events, programs, partners, and the Texas Exes brand across multiple social media platforms.
  • Maintain the social media calendar and intake departmental requests for social media.
  • In collaboration with the Marketing Team, provide live coverage for select association events.
  • Assist in the execution of marketing plans for various internal constituents. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help identify, develop and execute key strategies and maintain brand voice across audiences, assets, categories, and channels.
  • Assist with email marketing campaigns end-to-end and leverage features in email marketing platform, requiring daily oversight. Assist with email calendar management and email deployment.
  • Write marketing copy for customer-facing web, social, email, and print content
  • Produce marketing and communications briefs with clear direction centered on marketing strategies and goals. Work closely with internal creative team to coordinate the production of marketing collateral.
  • Play a key role in assisting with and maintaining the central marketing timeline.
  • Develop reports through collecting, analyzing and summarizing results and present results monthly.
  • Help conduct market research (usability studies, benchmarking, focus groups, surveys, etc.)
  • Monitor customer needs and feedback on social media.
  • Assist with project management for ongoing web updates, email projects, and social media projects as needed.

  • Proactive: able to note things that need to be done without being prompted and proactively address them
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products; familiarity with a customer relationship management database, experience in graphic design and basic understanding of html code a plus; relevant experience in email marketing and platforms an added bonus
  • Ability to attend occasional evening and weekend events
