Texas Fight Rally & Parade

October 7

A tradition since 1916, Texas Fight Rally & Parade is held every year before the Texas vs. OU game.

Watch student organizations, the Longhorn Band, Texas Cheer & Pom, and more, make their way down Guadalupe Street and up to the Tower, where the student organization that brought the most spirit will be announced the winner of our banner competition and the rally will begin.

Hear from UT President Jim Davis, Coach Steve Sarkisian and members of the Longhorn football team as they rally the crowd ahead of the Red River Rivalry while getting fired up from performances by Longhorn Band, Texas Cheer and Pom, Roustabouts, and the UT Dance Team.

The rally will culminate with the presentation of the official game ball by Coach Sarkisian to Naval ROTC and the launch of the annual Run to Dallas tradition, where midshipmen from UT and OU relay-run their respective game balls nearly 200 miles from campus to the Cotton Bowl ahead of the Texas-OU game.

After the rally ends, enjoy a classic taste of Texas with fair food provided by Student Government.

Student Org Banner Competition

Participate in Texas Fight Rally and your student organization could win a cash prize! All you have to do is show us your Longhorn spirit!

The $1,000 prize will go to the best overall organization and a $250 prize will be awarded to both the best Greek/Spirit org and the best Non-Greek/Spirit organization. To win, orgs will be scored and ranked based on the following:

Incorporation of the parade theme in your organization’s banner and the execution and creativity of banner decoration. Banner must include the name of the student organization.
Demonstration of school spirit
Participation — Bring as many of your organization’s members as possible!

The winners of the competition will be announced in front of the Tower during Texas Fight Rally! As we celebrate the 110th year of Texas Fight Parade, this year's theme is Red River Rewind! Student organizations participating in the parade must creatively reflect this theme by highlighting the history and traditions of their organization or nonprofit, while still featuring the rivalry. Have fun and be creative!
