Siete Foods
The story of the Garza family begins in 1974 on The University of Texas campus. Aida and Bobby Garza, BBA ’76, fatefully spotted each other while walking across Speedway St. and were introduced by a mutual friend. Fifty years, five kids, and one company later, the Garza family is on a mission through Siete Foods to bring people together to experience the flavors and traditions that united all seven members on their journey to health.
Launched by Veronica, BA ’03, her brother Miguel BBA, BBA ’09, JD '12, and their mom, Aida, Siete Foods started with a single almond flour tortilla sold in a local Austin, Texas retailer. As the business quickly expanded, the full family — including Bobby, sister Linda, BJ ’97, brother Roberto, and sister Rebecca, BS ’04, MA ’08, joined the team to support the better-for-you Mexican-American food brand.
Today, Siete Foods is the fastest-growing Hispanic-focused food brand in grocery, offering more than 85 products for a variety of dietary needs and preferences. Siete’s products can be found in more than 40,000 retail outlets across North America. Recently, Siete Foods was acquired by PepsiCo in a partnership that will bring their heritage-inspired foods to more people around the world.
More than a decade after creating a tortilla that would change their lives and impact millions of customers, the Garzas are still committed to supporting a company rooted in family, and creating delicious, heritage-inspired products made with thoughtfully selected ingredients.
