During my physical therapy internship, patients arrived embarrassed about their weaknesses, apologizing before we started treatment. I realized their disability didn’t just hurt physically; the stigma depleted their confidence. That’s why I want to be part of a community that recognizes the human side of health, not just science. With a major in Exercise Science, I can pursue my goal of healing people from the inside out.
Flying off a motorcycle, a sports injury, or even required weight loss; these are just some of the reasons that patients came to the clinic. My internship at Pace Chiropractic and Physical Therapy was incredibly meaningful, as it sparked my fascination with how movement can change and heal your body. Seeing Dr. Pace’s commitment to care inspired me to pursue a career in healthcare and potentially open my own practice. Beyond the clinic, I founded the Kinesiology Club to keep my peers active and introduce them to exercise science, sharing my passion with the community and developing leadership and mentorship skills.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have been surrounded by such a bright and diverse student population throughout high school. Every person expanded my perspective and challenged me to become the best version of myself, and I am certain that I will find the same positive atmosphere within the Longhorn community. I look forward to exploring the countless opportunities available at UT, like the Texas Pre-PA Society and Texas Kinesiology Club. I aim to contribute the same empathy and mentorship I’ve developed through my internship and club. As a future travel healthcare professional, I hope to experience new cultures to better connect to and empower my patients. Being a Scholar, I am 1000% confident that the FASP will foster my ambition through its diverse community, exposing me to new values and perspectives that shape compassionate, kind individuals.

What drew you to the Forty Acres Scholars Program?
I truly believe that UT is the perfect place for creativity and curiosity to thrive. Meeting the finalists, scholars, and donors at finalist weekend just showed me the extent of the support that the FASP community provides: coffee chats, team bonding events, the enrichment stipend, and so much more. By the end of the first day, I had lost my voice from speaking to everyone, and I just knew this program was the key to sharing a lifetime of friendship with such vibrant, thoughtful people. I loved learning about everyone’s ambitions, and it’s genuinely so cool that everyone is so different yet shares the same drive to make a positive difference in the world through innovative ideas. The world is constantly changing, and creativity and compassion are the only ways to ensure that change is positive. No other program can hold a candle to this program; it is so special, and I will forever be grateful for the FASP.
