President: Cristina I. Ramirez

Cristina I. Ramirez, an Austin native, is the current President of the Texas Exes Hispanic Alumni Network (HAN) and the chair of Fiesta 2026. Prior to this role, Ms. Ramirez served as HAN Secretary from 2021 to 2026 and Fiesta Silent Auction Chair in 2025. She previously served on the board of the Texas Exes Dallas Chapter and is a Texas Exes Life Member. Ms. Ramirez earned her B.S. in Public Relations from the University of Texas at Austin and her J.D. from Boston University School of Law. She serves on the Boston University School of Law Executive Committee and is the co-chair of the Boston University Alumni Association Austin Network. Her professional memberships include the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Austin Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Austin Bar Association, Hispanic Bar Association, and Latinas in Law Austin. Ms. Ramirez is licensed to practice in New York and Texas.

Ms. Ramirez believes that giving back to the community through mentorship and service is a privilege. She is a member of the Junior League of Austin, where she has dedicated significant hours of service with the Spanish Immersion Program, Women’s Storybook Project of Texas, Sustainable Food Center, and Austin Creative Reuse. She is a former member of the Junior League of Dallas and the Mexican American Bar Association of Dallas, where she served as Treasurer and Gala Chair. Ms. Ramirez is a Senior Post-Conviction Attorney with the Office of Capital and Forensic Writs, a Texas state public defender office that represents individuals sentenced to death. She has dedicated her legal career to serving vulnerable populations and has served as a public defender in Travis County, Dallas County, and New York City.

Immediate Past President: Patrick Caballero

Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Patrick was the third member of his family to graduate from UT, first with a B.A. (Plan II/Government) in 1999 and then his J.D. in 2002. After graduation, he spent a year clerking for the Texas Supreme Court (Hon. Harriet O'Neill) before entering private practice in commercial litigation. Patrick is now a partner with Richards, Rodriguez & Skeith LLP, where he practices business and construction litigation.

Mr. Caballero is an active member of the community, having served as president of the Hispanic Bar Association of Austin and as a board member of the Association's charitable foundation, which raises money annually for scholarships. He is also a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and the Austin Bar Foundation, both of which provide grant funding for underserved legal populations. Mr. Caballero is also a recipient of the U.T. Chicano/Hispanic Law Students Association Spirit Award.

The opportunity to help students is what drew Mr. Caballero to service with the Network. He served for several years on the Hispanic Alumni Network Scholarship Committee before becoming committee chair in 2018. One of the greatest perks of the role was the opportunity to reach out directly to the Network's scholarship recipients to inform them of their awards, a reminder of how a similar call he received in high school helped push him on the path to being a proud Longhorn. He served as President of the Network from 2020 until 2026. Patrick lives in Austin with his wife and fellow Longhorn graduate, Heather Pry (B.A., Plan II), and their two sons.

Treasurer: Cynthia Ramos

Cynthia Ramos, born and raised in Mission, Texas, is a Texas Exes Life Member with a BBA in Accounting & a BA in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin. Ms. Ramos is the President of Ramos Accounting & Administrative Services, LLC, a certified public accounting & third party administrator firm that provides accounting, consulting & administrative services to insurance companies. Before becoming a small business owner, Ms. Ramos acquired her insurance expertise at several life insurance companies. She held positions in the controller, corporate accounting, financial reporting, claims, premium accounting, and compliance functions.

In the community, Ms. Ramos is the Life Chair of the Texas Chapter of the Insurance Accounting & Systems Association (IASA), Austin CPA Chapter Inclusiveness Committee Co-Chair and Past President of ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals in For America). She is also involved with the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy Scholarship Program Advisory Committee (SPAC), the North Austin Coordinator for the Las Comadres & Friends National Latino Book Club, Finance Committee & past Chair for the Austin Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for Cure. Ms. Ramos is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Texas Society of CPAs.

Favorite UT Memory: Living in both wings of Jester dorm her freshman and sophomore years where she made life-long friends and late night studying in the based at the Perry–Castañeda Library.

Membership Chair: Linda Garza Battles, Ed.D.

Dr. Linda Garza Battles is a higher education executive and policy leader with more than three decades of experience advancing access, affordability, and student success. A proud three-time alumna of The University of Texas at Austin, she chairs the Texas Exes HAN Membership and Fiesta Sponsorship Committees.

Her extensive career includes nearly two decades at the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and six years as Chief of Staff and Legislative Director to the Honorable Irma Rangel. She currently serves as Regional Vice President for the South Region at Western Governors University (WGU), where she leads strategic initiatives across a five-state region—Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Oklahoma—focused on expanding educational pathways and strengthening workforce outcomes.

At WGU she serves as Executive Sponsor of the Women Employee Resource Group and chairs the Emerging Hispanic-Serving Institution Steering Committee. Dr. Battles also contributes to the community as a board member of the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation and Austin Voices for Education and Youth.

A first-generation college graduate, Dr. Battles draws on her personal experience overcoming financial and cultural barriers to guide her commitment to equity and opportunity in higher education. She is a dedicated mentor to emerging leaders, particularly students in UT Austin’s Executive doctoral program in higher education leadership and participants in WGU’s Talent Accelerator Program. She is deeply committed to expanding access and success in higher education for everyone.

Favorite UT Memory: My favorite memory is probably one many others share. It’s the Rose Bowl championship game in 2006. Standing in the crowd watching Vince Young step into the end zone and clinch the win against USC was unbelievable. I don’t think I’ve ever screamed louder, slapped hands harder, or hugged more complete strangers than in that moment. Thank you Horns!

Scholarship Committee Chair: Trinidad San Miguel, Ed.D.

Trinidad San Miguel was born and raised in Eagle Pass, Texas. He is a Texas Exes Life Member who graduated with a Doctor of Education in December 1996 and majored in Educational Administration. Dr. San Miguel serves as the Texas Exes HAN Scholarship Committee Chair and on the Fiesta Committee.

Dr. San Miguel retired after 47 ½ years in education serving as a teacher, assistant principal, principal (Victoria Independent School District), education specialist and director at the Texas Education Agency, education specialist at Education Service Center at Region 13, consultant to several low-performing schools, adjunct professor in the principal programs at Texas State University, Tarleton State University, Concordia University Texas, Texas A&M-Central Texas and assistant professor of practice at the University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. San Miguel served on the Austin Partner in Education (APIE) Board and as a mentor to students in Austin Independent School District (AISD) for 13 years. He continues to mentor students in AISD. Dr. San Miguel, his spouse Bill, and his family have established the George and Velia Flores San Miguel Endowed Scholarship at Texas State University in honor of his parents, and the Dr. Trinidad San Miguel and Dr. William Michael Cory Endowed Excellence Fund at the University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. San Miguel served on the HAN Scholarship Committee in 2026. He knows the importance of scholarships and wants to assist and mentor others who want to earn a college degree.

Network Liaison: Casilda (Casi) Godoy Clarich, Ed.D.

Past President of HAN, Dr. Casilda (Casi) Godoy Clarich is a strategic executive with two decades of agile experience gained by combining business operations, financial reporting and analysis, and risk mitigation strategy expertise within top-tier public and private sector organizations and Fortune 500 companies.

Respected business partner with demonstrated ability to see beyond status quo to drive profitable growth, streamline operations, optimize resources, implement internal controls, and ensure financial stability of organization. Proficient at identifying cost-effective efficiencies, improving operational processes, forecasting organizational resources, optimizing employee’s strengths and development, and resolving complex problems and issues.

Dr. Clarich has fifteen-plus years within the private sector, with corporate experience in annual budgeting, strategic planning, financial management, manufacturing, and employee communications and ten years within the public sector, including higher education, with experience in building high-performing teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, leading with integrity, leading organization change, and developing individuals for optimum performance and productivity.

Dr. Clarich works at the University of Texas System as Director in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer and serves on numerous boards and panels. Guest lecturer for the University of Texas at Austin’s Ed.D. in Leadership and Policy in Higher Education, she serves her community as Chair of the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber Foundation. Favorite UT Memory: Walking the drag on a crisp, fall day gearing up for a Longhorn Football game and watching the eclectic and diverse crowd of people on the corner of Guadalupe and 24th.
