I am from San Antonio, Texas, and graduated as the class valedictorian from Alamo Heights High School. I was the school mascot all four years, attending sporting events, pep rallies, and fundraisers. I was co-founder and president of Rho Kappa History Honor Society. I also served on the high school's strategic planning committee for three years, where I met with administrators, counselors, department heads, and parents to discuss school policy, curriculum, construction plans, and school-wide events. My awards and recognitions include AP Scholar with Distinction and earning the President's Volunteer Service Award all four years for serving 100+ hours each year. The majority of these volunteer hours were spent serving families at a local homeless shelter. I served as secretary of the French Club and Latin Club and was a member of National Honor Society, Science NHS, Mu Alpha Theta, Sociedad honoraria Hispanica, and Latin Honor Society. I am a classically trained pianist, who loves going to concerts, and can't wait to take on Austin's live music scene.

What drew you to the Forty Acres Scholars Program?
This unique, dedicated community drew me in immediately. The connections between students, faculty, donors, alumni, and the opportunities within the Forty Acres Scholars Program are like no other program at any university. The focus on connection, community, and discovery is exactly what I was looking for. The support the students are offered is incredible, and I am so honored to be a part of this amazing program.
