Fellow Longhorn Alumni and Friends, the time has come at long last for THE Texas Chili Cook-Off to return to New York City, bigger, louder, and tastier then EVER! As the weather gets a little less chili and the pandemic we hope is in the background for now, we look forward to proudly returning our biggest event of the year as a celebration of friendships, all things Burnt Orange, and most importantly to crown the BEST Chili east of the Hudson River!

When: Saturday, May 21, 1-6 p.m.

Where: Industry City, Brooklyn, NY

What: A 5-hour celebration of all you can drink Texas favorite beverages, all you can eat chili and queso (or until it runs out), DJ, live band in an indoor-outdoor set-up adjacent to the East River in the one and only Brooklyn New York! Just 2 subway stops from Manhattan, as well as convenient by ferry, car (large parking lot on the facility), and car service drop-off/pick up, Industry City is one of the most unique and exciting new spots in New York City. With nearly 100 shops, outlets, eateries, breweries, markets, and fun filled activities, Industry City offers all day and year-round activities for the entire family, and most importantly the new home of the Texas Chili Cook-off.

Our space is the biggest yet, with indoor and outdoor facilities to accommodate our large crowd (rain or shine!), we are ready for our biggest celebration yet. And yes we have heard you for many years – we will have a family friendly set-up this year including a young children’s play area and a young adults entertainment zone. And feel free to bring your favorite furry friends to the Cook-off, as the grounds are pet friendly and we will have treats for your best buds – dogs or armadillos!

The all you can drink open bar will be provided by our generous sponsors. Additionally, we will have select tastings from our partners for whiskey, wine and more. The Chili and Queso are provided by our competitive teams (amateur and restaurant). We are proud to offer all sorts of Chili’s this year for you to sample, including VEGAN chili. But don’t worry there will be plenty of traditional Texas chili for you to try and rate.

And we are excited to once again offer our V.I.P ticket for those who demand only the best. Full-service bar exclusively for VIP patrons as well as a chance to vote in our professional competition of chili rankings (The VIP award) – all tastings are brought to your table. You will never have to wait on a line as a member of the VIP Lounge.
