The Texas Congressional delegation, UT Austin and Texas Exes leadership, and alumni are invited to the congressional breakfast. This event includes networking time, a seated breakfast, and remarks from an established keynote speaker.

Includes volunteer check-in and overview of the key objectives and talking points.

11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Office Visits

U.S. Capitol
During this time, volunteer groups will have meetings scheduled with the Texas Congressional delegation and other key offices. Groups will consist of four or five volunteers and will meet with several offices.

6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Reception

The Liaison Capitol Hill

The Texas Congressional delegation, UT Austin leadership, UT advocates, volunteer participants, alumni, and staff are all welcome to celebrate a successful advocacy day.

Orange and Maroon Legislative Day

Every other year during the Texas legislative session, alumni from the University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M University join together to advocate for Tier 1 higher education in Texas with all 181 members of the Texas Legislature.

Volunteers will enjoy a lunch and have opportunities to network with other volunteers and university leaders. University leaders will speak on legislative issues facing our two universities in preparation for office visits to the Capitol later in the day.

2:45 - 5:00 p.m. Volunteer Office Visits 

Texas Capitol Building
Alumni Volunteers will visit legislative offices in assigned small groups. Each appointment will be 15 - 20 minutes. Volunteers are encouraged to stop by their local legislator's office to visit with staff between or after their scheduled meetings. 

5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Reception
