Working in my community is a passion of mine. Living in El Paso has offered me a plenty of opportunities to work with, coach, and inform people about my city. I was involved in debate, athletics, and community service activities; working as a coach for the debate program, co-founding a club that promotes cultural diversity, and serving as a counselor for a border immersion program. These experiences provided a platform to grow as an individual, team member, and leader. I hope to continue to be involved in service organizations and challenge myself during my time on the Forty Acres. I fell in love with the business world at a young age. It intrigued me to see it in my daily life during lemonade stands and in student organizations. I love how the individual, the department, and the company are all working together towards the same end goal. I am excited to take full advantage of what The University of Texas has to offer, to grow as an individual, and embrace the Longhorn State of Mind. Hook ‘Em.

What drew you to the Forty Acres Scholars Program?
I was drawn to the Forty Acres Scholars Program because it is the opportunity of lifetime promotes the growth of an individual academically, culturally, and socially. It was at the Finalist Weekend when i knew this the program for me. Talking with current scholars showed me the familial bond that existed and that was exactly what I was looking for.
