The Texas Exes is the premier scholarship administrator at the University of Texas at Austin. For the 2015-16 school year, the Texas Exes awarded a record $3.45 million in scholarships to 641 students. These students are supported by thousands of alumni every year.

Forty Acres Scholars Program

The Texas Exes relies on its many alumni and friends to maintain its stature as a world-class university. Forty Acres Scholarships are established by alumni and friends of the Texas Exes who are invested in perpetuity to support bringing the nation's most talented students to Texas and giving them a one-of-a-kind experience.

$500,000 Named Scholarship Endowment
Often described as a gift that keeps on giving, an endowment leverages your gift across time and provides tangible, lasting benefits. The Texas Exes invests your funds, using distributions from the investment for the purpose you wish to support. When establishing a Forty Acres Scholarship endowment, you are supporting one student in any four-year degree plan. A portion of the total income and capital gains is reinvested each year, enabling the endowment to continue to grow and provide a predictable, stable stream of income over time.

$60,000 Stamps Foundation Matching Scholarship
This matching scholarship directly supports a student for four years and is therefore a non-endowed scholarship. Your $15,000 annual contribution will make a difference immediately and will be matched with an additional $15,000 annual contribution from the Stamps Family Charitable Foundation.

$1,000 Minimum Gift—Forty Acres Society
This gift goes into an unrestricted fund for all of our Forty Acres Scholars and supports students during the current academic year. Forty Acres Society members receive exclusive invitations to events featuring university faculty, administration, and coaches on campus and in designated geographic regions throughout the year. As a member you will gain access to networking opportunities with other alumni who share an interest in bringing the best and brightest to UT. You'll also get to interact with the next generation of student leaders.

$1,000 Minimum Gift—Program Excellence Fund
If you are interested in contributing to an unrestricted endowment to provide all of our Forty Acres Scholars these opportunities by creating a sustainable source of income, please consider a gift to the Program Excellence Fund. Gifts to this fund will be invested rather than used that academic year.

General Scholarship Fund

Donate to a general scholarship fund to provide additional support to students or establish an endowed named scholarship which can be applied with or without application restrictions. For the 2015-16 school year, the Texas Exes awarded a record $3.45 million in scholarships to 641 students. The general scholarship fund allows the Texas Exes to provide larger scholarships to deserving students who are receiving funds from an endowed scholarship that's distribution is smaller than most. It also allows the Texas Exes to offer a scholarship to deserving students who did not receive one of our named scholarships. These funds are placed in a scholarship endowment in order to provide these additional scholarship funds in perpetuity.

For more information on establishing an endowed scholarship, please contact Lauren Schumann at or 512-242-2450.
