NOM NOM NOM!!
Yes, friends, it's that time of year where brave men and women put their chili recipes to the test! A battle of taste, quality ingredients, and presentation. A coming together to celebrate what truly matters in life - the Texas Longhorns and Chili. This year, you can satisfy your munchies in style!
HISTORY - We started this event in 2008 in hopes of bringing a little bit of Texas to Southern California. And we succeeded. The first annual Chili Cook-off at Mr. Pockets in Manhattan Beach was fondly remembered by all and raised thousands of dollars toward our annual scholarship. After a few years in Hollywood, we decided to return to our roots. Now called 2nd Half, the bar will be indoors with plenty of room for both chili teams and chili eaters.
DONATION - Please remember that this event supports our scholarship fund. Every year we send at least one freshman student from the SoCal area to The University of Texas. The scholarship amount varies year-to-year, due to the success of our events and generousity of our Texas Exes community. Students largely base their decision of going to UT on whether or not they can afford the tuition. It is our mission to help them make the right Longhorn-based decision by helping ease their financial burdens. Aside from event tickets and raffles, please consider donating to our scholarship fund. We have included a scholarship donation option on here if you feel so inclined. Thank you for your support!
