The Texas Exes, the alumni association for The University of Texas at Austin, announces an immediate opening for the part-time (15 –20 hours/week), non-exempt position of Accounting Intern.  

The duties listed below will enable the intern to gain valuable experience in document management, cash processes, internal controls, segregation of duties as well as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and accounting software skills. 

Major Job Functions 

  • Perform general ledger and data entry for registrations, donations, and revenue receipts 

  • General Ledger Account Reconciliations 

  • Assist with mailings in support of marketing campaigns 

  • Scan and file journal entries 

  • File A/P checks and review for misfiled checks 

  • Prepare vendor invoices and follow up on aged receivables 

  • Prepare daily check deposits 

  • Handle lock box packets 

  • Prepare fixed asset tags 

  • Follow up on outstanding checks 

  • Assist with various projects as assigned 

Job Requirements 

  • MS Office 

  • Knowledge of accounting software (preferred) 

  • Planning and organizing  

  • Attention to detail  

  • Problem-solving  

  • Teamwork  

  • Communication skills  

  • Dependable 

  • Proof of authorization to work in the U.S. upon hire 

  • Pass background check
