Scholarships > How to Apply

Entering freshmen using the online University of Texas Application for Freshman Scholarships, should apply for scholarships by December 1 of their senior year in high school. The application can be found at http://finaid.utexas.edu/, at www.texasscholarships.org, or at www.applytexas.org/adappc/commonapp.WBX. On the application, indicate that you are applying for Texas Exes Scholarships for Freshmen or the Texas Exes Awards for Scholarship and Leadership.

Current full time undergraduate, graduate, and transfer students at The University of Texas at Austin should apply by March 1 using the on-line application form provided by the Office of Student Financial Services, "The University of Texas at Austin Application for Scholarships" at http://finaid.utexas.edu/. Specific and General scholarships are listed on this website. On the application, check "Texas Exes Scholarships" and then enter the scholarship code numbers or letters in the space provided: i.e. ESA-SS01, ESA-BUS, ESA-G, etc. Do not write the full names of the scholarships. If no code numbers are listed by the scholarship name, you cannot directly apply for the scholarship.

Follow all instructions on the application. Please email any required essays as Word attachments, making sure to include your name, EID and name of scholarship at the top of the page. One page is the ideal length for all essays.  If a letter of recommendation, special essay or transcript is required for a specific scholarship, be sure to email it to moore@alumni.utexas.edu , send it Campus Mail to Eleanor Moore, Texas Exes F1200 or mail it to
