Current full-time UT students or transfer students may be eligible. Check each scholarship for selection criteria. See How to Apply for details on completing the application. Make sure to use code letters on the application. If no code numbers are listed by the scholarship name, you cannot apply for the scholarship. Please note: scholarship estimates and number of recipients are approximate and vary annually. March 1 is the application deadline. Important: Additional essays should be one page in length. Please include your name, EID and the name of the scholarship on the essay and send as an email attachment to moore@alumni.utexas.edu.

(ESA-APO) Alpha Phi Omega Scholarship
For a continuing University of Texas undergraduate student who demonstrates the ideals of leadership, friendship, and service through extracurricular activity. Members of APO are excluded. Selection criteria include service to campus, community, and scouting; minimum of 2.5 GPA; employment while in college; and financial need. Send an additional essay describing how you personify the ideals listed above to The Texas Exes, Director of Scholarships via e-mail to moore@alumni.utexas.edu.  ($1,000/1 recipient)

(ESA-SP) Emily Fields Anderson Memorial Scholarship
For female undergraduate students majoring in Spanish who show academic achievement and financial need. Overall participation in extracurricular activities will be considered. A letter of recommendation from a member of the Spanish faculty must be sent to The Texas Exes, Director of Scholarships, Campus Mail Code F1200. ($3,000/2 recipients)

(ESA-MD) Marence Daniel "M.D." Anderson Memorial Scholarship
For an African American male sophomore student with an overall grade point average of 2.5 or better who has demonstrated leadership, community service and/or volunteer activities, scholastic competence, achievement in varsity or intramural sports, and personal honor. The scholarship can be continued for a total of 3 years as long as the recipient maintains a GPA of at least 2.5.($1,750/1 recipient)

(ESA-BARSHOP) Sam and Ann Barshop Scholarship
For an African American or Hispanic graduate student from the San Antonio area that is enrolled in the McCombs School of Business.  Academic performance and financial need will be considered. ($3,500/1 recipient)

Hutch Bass Memorial Scholarship
For athletes who have completed eligibility for intercollegiate competition but have not received a university degree. Applicants must be recommended by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. ($3,000-$3,800/1-2 recipients)

Margaret C. Berry Scholarship
For an outstanding sophomore woman with achievements in scholastics, extracurricular activities, and service to the University and community. Awarded by Orange Jackets, Mortar Board, and The Texas Exes. A special application is available from Orange Jackets each spring. ($800/1 recipient)

(ESA-BHAGAT) B. and V. Bhagat Memorial Scholarship
For deserving pre-med students at the University of Texas of Austin.($900/1 recipient)

(ESA-BICKLER) Mary Hilliard Bickler-Max Hermann Bickler Memorial Scholarship
For a student at the undergraduate level who is pursuing a career in deaf education. ($3,300/1 recipient)

(ESA-BIRDWELL) William Reagan Birdwell Jr. Memorial Scholarship
For a current film major at the University of Texas. Applicants with a minimum GPA of 3.0 but not exceeding 3.5. Applicants should be involved on campus and demonstrate leadership, service, and integrity. ($1,400/1 recipient)

(ESA-BOERGER) George Boerger Scholarship
For an incoming undergraduate transfer student who demonstrates financial need and a strong academic record. Current UT students are not eligible. The scholarship can be renewed annually for a maximum of three additional years provided the student can demonstrate financial need and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75. Please print your online application and mail with a transcript of previous college work to Director of Scholarships, The Texas Exes, P.O. Box 7278, Austin, TX78713. Recipients may reapply. ($2,000-$5,000/1-2 recipients)

(ESA-BUS) Lewis E. Brazelton, III Scholarship
For current University of Texas undergraduate students in the school of business with preference given to finance majors. ($800/1 recipient)

(ESA-NUR) Theresa DeVillier Brown Memorial Scholarship
For a nursing student specializing in cancer-patient care. ($900/1 recipient)

Ellen Engler Burks Memorial Scholarship
For a UT student who is U.S. Citizen beginning his/her senior year as an English major and has maintained a 2.75 GPA while attending UT Austin. The applicant must have the last 60 course hours completed at UT Austin.  The UT Department of English should recommend the 3-5 recipients to the Texas Exes Scholarship Committee based on the eligibility stated above and the recipient’s outstanding writing abilities in prose and/or poetry.  A sample of the students’ written work should accompany their recommendation.  ($950/1 recipient)

Earl Campbell Scholarship
For deserving University athletes. The recipient must have completed participation in intercollegiate competition for The University of Texas and be continuing his or her education. Applicants must be recommended by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. ($3,000-$7,000/2-6 recipients)

Mike Campbell Scholarship
The Mike Campbell Scholarship is for deserving students recommended by the Department of Men’s Athletics. ($700/1 recipient)

Ruben R. and Dardanella G. Cardenas Challenge Grant Scholarship
For deserving Mexican American students in the School of Law at The University of Texas at Austin.   Special consideration will be given to students who are mobility impaired.  The scholarship will fund three years of study as long as the recipient remains enrolled as a full time student in the School of Law and makes satisfactory progress toward his or her degree.   Recommended by the School of Law. $2300/1 recipient)

(ESA-CARTER) The Manny and Renata Carter Scholarship
Current full-time undergraduate students at the University of Texas at Austin who are native Texans with a minimum 3.5 grade point average who are majoring in international business or Germanic languages are eligible to apply for this scholarship through the Texas Exes regular application process. Financial need will be considered. ($1,650/1 recipient)

(ESA-SEMBRADORES) Club Sembradores de Amistad Challenge Grant Scholarship
For first-generation Hispanic UT undergraduate students who have completed at least 30 hours at UT with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and are economically disadvantaged. The scholarship can be renewed if the student is enrolled as a full time UT student with at least a 3.0 GPA. Recipients are encouraged to remain in Central Texas after graduation. ($1750/1 recipient)

Isabella Cunningham/Jean Kaspar Scholarship For Leadership, Team Spirit, and Excellence In Women’s Athletics
For a female athlete who demonstrates leadership, team spirit, and aspires to excellence. Candidates must be recommended by the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women. ($800/1 recipient)

Judson Daniel Davis Memorial Scholarship
For a member in good standing with the Longhorn Band. The Director of the Longhorn Band will select the recipient on the basis of outstanding attitude, spirit, work ethic and pride in the Longhorn Band and The University of Texas. ($1,000/1 recipient)

(ESA-DECHERD) Henry Benjamin Decherd and Isabelle Thomason Decherd Scholarship
For a sophomore African American student at the University of Texas at Austin with a 2.5 or higher GPA that has participated in two or more extracurricular activities and demonstrates good character.  The scholarship can be received by the same student for 3 years or until graduation. ($3,800/1 recipient)

Martin Dies, Jr. Challenge Grant Scholarship in the Liberal Arts for Study Abroad
For deserving Hispanic or African American students who are enrolled in UT’s College of Liberal Arts with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and will be studying abroad. Recipients must be recommended to the Texas Exes Scholarship Committee by the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts ($9,000/multiple recipients)

(ESA-DISMUKES) The Teri B. Dismukes Memorial Scholarship
For current students at the University of Texas at Austin who are seeking a degree in social work and have financial need. ($700/1 recipient)

(ESA-DOYLE) Dorothy and Jim Doyle Scholarship
For current UT graduate students in a field of engineering or natural sciences or for current undergraduate students in the College of Liberal Arts who plan to do graduate study in a technical field. Applicants must demonstrate financial need. Send an essay outlining future goals and a letter of recommendation from a UT faculty member to The Texas Exes, Director of Scholarships, P.O. Box 7278, Austin, TX 78713. The essay can be emailed to moore@alumni.utexas.edu. ($4,000-$6,000/1-3 recipients)

Marian and Dick Dozier Scholarship
For a qualifying employee or the son or daughter of an employee of Austaco, Inc. (d.b.a. Taco Bell or Pizza Hut) who has financial need. Recipients will be selected on an annual basis, but the award may be received by the same student more than once. ($1,000/1 recipient)

Special Award In Drama
For outstanding graduate students in theater. The recipients must be recommended by the Department of Theatre. ($1,000/1 recipient)

(ESA-ELMS) Steven Wade Elms Memorial Scholarship
For a current or entering student from the Midland-Odessa area who has made significant contributions to The University of Texas and/or to the community through charitable and volunteer activities. Applicants should exemplify leadership, entrepreneurship, ambition, and strong ties to family and friends. Financial need will also be considered, and recipients may reapply. ($1,250 /1 recipient)

Jerry and Crockett English Scholarship
For deserving members of the UT golf team who are recommended by the coach. Given alternately to members of the women’s and men’s teams. ($700/1 recipient)

Fallen Wrangler Memorial Scholarship
For outstanding members of the Texas Wranglers who personify qualities of leadership, community service, academic achievement, and extracurricular activities. ($1,000/1 recipient)

(ESA-FERRELL) Reba Daniel Ferrell Scholarship
First preference will be given to female graduates of Blooming Grove High School, Texas, ISD who have completed a minimum of 2 semesters at UT with at least a 2.5 GPA. If there are no qualified candidates from Blooming Grove, any qualifying female students from small rural Texas high school (graduating class of less than 100 students) who have completed a minimum of 2 semesters at UT with at least a 2.5 GPA can apply. ($1,000/1 recipient)

(ESA-FISHER) Ray Fisher Memorial Scholarship
Applicants must be current UT undergraduate students at the sophomore level or above with demonstrated high scholastic ability and financial need. By March 1, applicants should email an additional one-page essay to moore@alumni.utexas.edu stating why they should be considered for the Fisher Scholarship. In addition, a letter of recommendation from a UT faculty member should be sent to Texas Exes Scholarship Director, Campus Mail Code F1200. ($6,000/ 3 recipients)

Helen Margaret Flinn Memorial Scholarship
For graduate students in music. Recipients will be recommended by the chair of the School of Music. ($1,000-$1,500/1 recipient)

(ESA-STUDY ABROAD) Flying Longhorns Study Abroad Scholarship
For current UT upper division undergraduate students who are US citizens and have been accepted into an official UT study abroad program.  Academic excellence and financial need will be considered.  By March 1,applicants should email an additional one-page essay to moore@alumni.utexas.edu describing their study abroad program and reasons why they are studying abroad and why they should be considered for this scholarship. Send your essay as an attachment, making sure to include your name, EID and name of scholarship. ($1775/1 recipient)
