Dinner with 12 Strangers

The Texas Exes Student Chapter is excited to invite you to continue a Texas Exes tradition, Dinner with 12 Strangers, a program that helps create a connection between alumni and current UT students. This program consists of small alumni-hosted dinners, which enable students to meet successful alumni and fellow students in a casual environment. As a UT alumnus, these dinners give you an opportunity to connect with the University and interact with students from diverse academic disciplines.

As a dinner host, you specify a date and time for the dinner. This program is on a rolling basis throughout the fall and spring, and dinners can be hosted any day of the week. These wonderful gatherings can range from hamburgers by the grill to formal feasts. Regardless of the type or formality of the dinner, you are helping to bring together current UT students and alumni.

Testimonial from Ron G. Greening, B.S. ’69, Life Member
Two-Time Dinner with 12 Strangers Host

“I have enjoyed hosting two Dinners with 12 Strangers in my home. What a treat to meet students and faculty that I would not have otherwise had an opportunity to get to know. The dinners truly reinforced the philosophy that people are The University of Texas at Austin.

One of the great challenges we have is to connect our diverse university community in positive ways. Dinner with 12 Strangers connects students and alumni in a warm setting over a meal so that these folks are no longer strangers to one another.

We establish new connections among ourselves and with the University. We share perspectives, traditions, observations, hopes, and concerns. I very highly recommend taking the opportunity to host a dinner.”

If you are interested in hosting or co-hosting a dinner, please email Corey Fernandez (512)232-5866.
