Texas Fans Make Us Proud Logo

The University of Texas, the Athletics Department and the Texas Exes would like to say-
TEXAS FANS MAKE US PROUD

Last year, the Texas Exes launched the Texas Fans Make Us Proud sportsmanship campaign. We brought together a large group of constituents from across the campus --- students, band and spirit groups, athletics staff, police, alumni --- to brainstorm ways of leading our University community, our conference, and the nation to higher levels of fan sportsmanship.

One result is the message above --- Texas Fans Make Us Proud. It is, of course, depending on the pronunciation, a statement of fact or a request and it was meant as both. This season and for years to come, you’ll be seeing this message on banners, cups, shirts, napkins, jumbotrons, blimps, buses, and any other surface we can get it on, because we think it’s a message worthy of maximum exposure.

The success of this campaign will help create a safe and positive environment for recruits, student athletes, coaches, media, alumni and fans. It is our hope that it will also create a nationwide emphasis on sportsmanship-related issues leading to more safe and positive environments on all college campuses. We already witnessed one sucessful year of the campaign and look forward to spreading the word to as many Texas fans as possible in the next year.

We ask that all fans follow these simple guidelines to help make this campaign a sucess:

  • Come early, be loud, stay late, wear orange
  • Welcome visiting teams and their fans
  • Respect the game officials
  • If you drink alcohol, know your limit and stay well under it
  • Watch your language

We invite you to use the "Texas Fans Make Us Proud" logo ("Mark") in your office, home, community, or wherever else you feel will get the word out and empower Longhorn fans to take pride in this message.
