Here’s How to Enter

1. First and foremost, tune in
Watch the video and take note -- you’ll see some "Texas Fans: Take Ten" do’s and don’ts. It will blow your mind and as Picasso said, "Every act of creation is first an act of destruction." How’s that for direction? Enjoy!

2. Shoot for the moon; at least you’ll land amongst stars!
Lights, camera, Hook’em! Alright Robert Rodriguez wannabes, grab a camera and show us your Longhorn best in ten seconds. Create, articulate, collate or tell it straight. Do it solo or with a whole herd of fellow Longhorns - it’s up to you. Whatever you do, keep it classy, clean and with true Texas tenacity that makes UT proud to call you a fan.

3. Time to Shine
Once your mini-masterpiece is complete, upload your video on YouTube.com to your YouTube account. Don’t have an account? No worries, the price is Longhorn friendly (FREE!) and easy to create.

4. Join our Group
After your video is uploaded, the next step is to join the "Texas Fans: Take Ten" group page on YouTube.
To do so, visit www.youtube.com/group/TexasFansTakeTen.
Join the group (upper right-hand corner) and then add your video to the group. After you add it, we’ll approve your video for the world to see and send you a message asking for your contact information and instructions on how to pick up your FREE sportsmanship t-shirt* from the Etter-Harbin Alumni Center.

*The first 200 entries will receive a newly designed "Texas Fans Make Us Proud" sportsmanship t-shirt, an excellent addition to game day or any day attire.

5. Texas Tribunal
The Texas Exes staff will narrow down the field to the top ten submissions. The finalists will be contacted to generate a higher-quality version of their video.

An assembly of Longhorn and Austin greats will secretly meet to view the top ten videos and cast their votes for the top three. The Texas Exes will contact the top three finalists prior to the Texas versus Rice football game on September 20th, with the winning video announced and hopefully shown during halftime for all the Eyes of Texas to see. Of course, all decisions of the judges are final.

Sweet Rewards

For taking ten, the first 200 entries will receive a "Texas Fans Make Us Proud" newly designed t-shirt. The top three videos, will also earn some extra spending money to go along with the pride of winning:

• 1st Place: $200 cash and a Jumbo-surprise (pending approval)
• 2nd Place: $100 cash
• 3rd Place: $50 cash
  

Judges
As the September 15th contest deadline approaches, we’ll announce our elite burnt orange panel of judges.

Fine Print

This contest is open to current The University of Texas at Austin students to uphold and spearhead "Texas Fans Make Us Proud -- Respectful, Friendly, Passionate" sportsmanship campaign.

Winning videos will be selected from those posted on the "Texas Fans: Take Ten" YouTube group. The Texas Exes will contact the owners of posted videos to obtain contact information, verify enrollment and coordinate the issuance of "Texas Fans Make Us Proud" t-shirts from the Etter-Harbin Alumni Center. Contact information will also be used to contact the top finalist. The top three winners are decided by a panel of judges and all decisions of the judges are final. All entries become the property of the Texas Exes and may be shown on any Texas Exes and University of Texas affiliated sites.

Official Rules

"Texas Fans: Take Ten" contest starts 12:01 am CST on August 22, 2008 and concludes at 11:59pm CST on September 15, 2008. The sponsors of the contest are the Texas Exes and The University of Texas Athletic Department. Winners will be announced during the Texas vs Rice game on September 20, 2008. Winners need not be present to win. Participant(s) and winner(s) must be US residents at least 18 years old as determined by the Texas Exes and UT Athletic Department and currently enrolled in The University of Texas at Austin. The winning video will play on the "Jumbotron" only after approval from The University of Texas Athletic Department. Only one (1) entry per person per contest. Only one (1) prize per household per contest. Employees of the Texas Exes, UT Athletics Department and members of the immediate family of any such persons may participate but are not eligible to win. The term "immediate family" includes: spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents, and grandchildren, whether as "in-laws," or by current or past marriage(s), remarriage(s), adoption, co-habitation or other family extension, and any other person residing at the same household whether or not related. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received.
