Chapter Chartering Process
The chapter chartering process is a yearly requirement for existing chapters to update their chapter information with Texas Exes. All chapter chartering requirements must also be completed in order for a new chapter to be formed.
Required positions for a chapter to complete the charter process include:
Current President
President-Elect
Treasurer
Membership Chair
To renew a chapter charter with the Texas Exes, the following forms must be completed annually by June 1:
Charter Agreement Form: This form is given to the Texas Exes’ Board of Directors to be approved for a charter.
Officer Report: A minimum of four individuals in the required positions must maintain current Texas Exes membership.
Financial Statement: This lists income sources and expense categories for the previous year; the local balance held indicates operations funding for the group and scholarship awards to be made in the upcoming academic year.
Charter by-laws: (Only if current by-laws are not on file with the Texas Exes) Must be signed by 10 current Texas Exes members. This remains on file and is resubmitted only when amendments have been made, but all groups to be chartered need to use this document as a starting point; it establishes the "leadership year" as July 1- June 30.
Renew a Network
To renew a network, complete and submit the Network Agreement by June 1st.
All chapter and network officers must be dues-paying members of the Texas Exes.
Fax any forms to the attention of Courtney Ratliff, 512/471-8832 or mail to their attention at P.O. Box 7278, Austin, TX 78713.
