A Torchlight Parade will set off at 7:00pm at the corner of 25th and Guadalupe Streets, travel south on Guadalupe, and then east on 21st Street to Gregory Gym for the main event.

In case of rain, the Torchlight Parade will be cancelled, and the rally will begin at 7:00pm.
The Gregory Gym program will feature "then and now" segments. We’ll open the show by recreating the scene in 1955, and have Henry "HK" Pitts and Harley Clark relate their stories on the origin of the Hook ’em Horns hand sign. Then we’ll travel forward fifty years to the present, and reflect on how the tradition has come to mean so much to the University.
University of Texas alumni who were present in 1955 are invited to return and will be specially recognized. Reserved seating for the 1950s alumni is in the southeast balcony.
Following the rally, 1950s alumni are invited to Scholz’ Beer Garden for an informal reunion. Free parking is available in the state-owned garage across the street.
Among the 1955 alumni is UT Heritage Society member Neal Spelce, who has very kindly agreed to serve as emcee for the anniversary.
UT President Larry Faulkner and U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison are also expected to attend.
The Texas Alumni Cheerleaders have scheduled to their bi-annual reunion to coincide with the anniversary, and will take part in the Torchlight Parade and the Gregory Gym program.
A Stadium Full o’ Hook ’em! Thanks to generous contributions by H.E.B. and the Austin American-Statesman, and with the support of UT Athletics, 80,000 "Hook ’em Hands" will be available for fans at the game. Look for a special anniversary halftime show by the Longhorn Band.
